With the NFT space moving towards a wider audience and community, more and more commercial enterprises are also venturing into the ever-growing space. This time, Happy Dad Hard Seltzer has hopped on the trend by launching an NFT-based limited edition flavor.
The California-based alcohol brand operating out of Orange County is co-founded by Sam Shahidi, John Shahidi and Kyle Forgeard of the Nelk Boys. Since its inception in June 2021, the enterprise has been gaining traction and achieved massive success and sold over 26.4 million cans, with one million cases sold within the first 12 months.
It offers a variety of packs containing a wide selection of flavors, including Wild Cherry, Watermelon, Lemon-Lime, and Pineapple. Each 12 oz can has 5% ABV, 100 calories, and one gram of sugar. In addition, it is packed with electrolytes without any artificial flavors or gluten.
For its NFT debut, the company has confirmed that the beloved carbonated drink will come in a fresh and fruity banana flavor. It also comes in exciting packaging that showcases a Bored Ape from the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection.
Aptly called Happy Dad Banana, the brand-new product is available in a 12-can pack. There are a total of 10,000 cases produced, an homage to the NFT community, as most collections contain 10,000 tokens. Prior to its August 11 rollout, the banana drink was featured and enjoyed on last week’s Full Send Podcast, where Elon Musk was a guest. The episode was highly successful and garnered more than 8.6 million views.
Asked to share what inspired them to create the innovative project, Happy Dad Hard Seltzer Founder and CEO Sam Shahidi explained, “We are big NFT fans over here at Happy Dad, and it made sense for us to purchase a Bored Ape. We wanted to create something unique for everyone to enjoy while also having the NFT community involved. Obviously, banana is a bold flavor and hasn’t been seen before, but we nailed the flavor, and it’s refreshing and delicious.”
As a testament to its success, Happy Dad has established a significant following on Instagram of more than 950,000. On top of that, it holds the record for being the #1 followed and engaged hard seltzer brand on the platform. Just recently, the brand has collaborated with several celebrities and athletes, such as UFC star “Sugar” Sean O’Malley. It also partnered with The Pivot Podcast with retired NFL Stars Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.
With the release of Happy Dad Banana, the NFT-inspired product will undoubtedly boost the company’s success even further. As it stands, it is the first-ever hard seltzer NFT in the alcoholic retail market. Furthermore, collectors and enthusiasts have expressed their excitement about purchasing the drink, especially members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
Happy Dad Bananas are currently available in 14 states: AL, AZ, CA, FL, GA, KY, MA, NV, NJ, NY, RI, SC, TN, and TX. And as always, Happy Dad reminds its customers and consumers to drink responsibly.
